
Cisco has announced that Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, will be deploying its end-to-end networking solutions to evolve to a complete Internet Protocol (IP)-based architecture in India.
The new IP based networking technology will support delivery of innovative mobile broadband data and video services.
Cisco solutions will provide Vodafone with a multi-service convergence platform to serve Vodafone’s residential, business and mobile customers with a single network infrastructure, thereby lowering its capital and operating costs. Vodafone will also be able to deliver newer data services at faster mobile broadband speeds to its customers, enhancing their experience.
Traditional networks cannot to scale up to address the flexibility required by new consumer entertainment and communications services, making it imperative for service providers to upgrade to a IP network infrastructure.
