Dhanya Thakkar joins Trend Micro as MD India & SAARC

A highly dynamic and extremely skilled executive who successfully blends technology acumen and business skills, Dhanya Thakkar has been appointed as the new Managing Director, India & SAARC, Trend Micro. Thakkar’s appointment indicates the renewed focus of Trend Micro in providing momentum towards the further growth of the company.

Dhanya joined Trend Micro, as a result of acquisition of IndusGuard, which he co-founded and for which he served as President. “We are extremely elated to welcome Dhanya Thakkar as an essential role player at Trend Micro. With global experience at numerous start-ups as well as large global public companies, Dhanya has been associated with utmost innovation and has led business transformations for over 18 years. He has also worked with Third Brigade, a leading provider of server and cloud security software where he led the Business Development and Security Centre as the Vice President.

He was involved in all aspects of their strategy and operations and was instrumental in engineering the acquisition of Third Brigade by Trend Micro. Prior to joining Third Brigade, Dhanya held various leadership positions at Entrust from 1995 through 2005. He is also the co-inventor of two patented technologies and has published Internet briefs on software technology.

Dhanya has a proven track record of building security solutions to and from the cloud, developing strategic alliances and strategic selling at an executive level. He intends to utilize his exceptional exposure as the key to enhance overall functioning and services. He is determined to further expand Trend Micro’s foothold in the country in terms of organization and channel as well as gain tremendous market share growth.
