The era of mobile apps

Last night I was sitting on my iPad looking for an app on sikkhism and I encountered with the religion app where I had found the teachings on most of the religions. For several hours I was looking for the history of sikkhism and I could only read talks revolved around user experience. There has been an array of apps that I could see on my iPad that it became almost impossible for me to go to my choice of app and look out for an answer.

Today the mobile market is so much flooded with apps that the individual apps find it impossible to stand out. The mobile app industry has grown to mammoth volumes and is continue to grow over time. Besides several informative apps, the TV industry has also embraced mobile and tablet apps that are becoming prominent in deals between content providers and distributors and also opening up direct consumer access.

There has been thousands of apps that are available on iPad, mobiles et cetra. Today 80% of the population instead browsing on web prefers to look out for their preferred apps like games, news, social networking apps, TV apps and so on and keep themselves updated.

Gone are the days when people use to browse on the internet for their preferred choices. Today, Apps has replaced the dotcom era and with handsets in hand people today can move on to apps while on the go.

Dedicated apps make sense for fans who look for a particular brand. It can be channels like Discovery, National Geographical, Set Max, Star, Sony and so on so forth. Developed by content owners and authenticated for subscribers, these apps can increase loyalty by bringing communities together.

There have been people who love to watch discovery on iPad, then there are few who love to listen to their favourite singers of Indian Idol Junior. With mobile apps are loaded with hundreds and thousands in number, it is becoming increasingly impossible to compete in the app market. Mobile analytics company Flurry in its recent reports has shown the massive growth in the mobile apps world. With the amount of time people spend on the apps then the internet shows that developers are taking the advantage of the buildup apps and all the eyeballs rolling on the favourite apps.
