NetApp announces new integrations with VMware solutions

Chief information officers (CIOs) are moving from being builders of applications and operators of data centers to being brokers of information services to the business. They’re embracing new technologies and service delivery models that allow them to make IT faster, cheaper and smarter. The software-defined data center (SDDC) is helping CIOs achieve an infrastructure that works without interruption by pooling and abstracting hardware resources and enabling them to be programmatically defined in software.

As part of this evolution in the data center, NetApp has announced new integrations with VMware solutions and NetApp clustered Data ONTAPsoftware to enable non-disruptive migration of data for hundreds of virtual machines at a time. This enhancement, together with NetApp integrations for VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon Suite, VMware vCenter Server, VMware vCloud Automation Center, and VMware vCenter Log Insight simplify and accelerate the deployment of software-defined storage (SDS) in a software-defined data center (SDDC).

These new integrations enable organizations to rapidly and cost-effectively deliver new services with maximum application uptime and uninterrupted business operations. SDS powered by NetApp clustered Data ONTAP allows customers to confidently accelerate their business through innovation and enable IT agility spanning the data center to end-user computing.
