Prospering in Festivities

Whether it is Diwali or Durga Puja, festivals are surely big in terms of their celebrations as well as devising a way to create business opportunities, especially for the channel community. Global vendors as well as distributors or the channel partners are set to create growth prospects in this festive season.

As far as the country is concerned, it is surely encouraging to see how successful festivals are, not just in terms of the economy, but also in making people proud of where they live and the community-based feelings, which are rekindled through such events.

There is great evidence that festivals in India – especially the Diwali season and Durga Puja make a significant contribution towards promoting the place where they take place and also to to developing audiences for business generation. This becomes extremely important, especially in times such as today, when the economy is not going in the right direction. Such festivals are set to bring in the divine intervention and create great opportunities for the distribution and the channel community of the country as a whole.

We must understand the significance of Deepawali. Well, Deepavali or Diwali, popularly known as the “festival of lights,” is a five-day Hindu festival which starts on Dhanteras. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali falls between mid-October and mid-November. It is the right of all the festivities, a time when people go out and purchase utensils and today a number of household gadgets such as a PC or a laptop, tablet etc are being brought during this period, hence there is a spurt in activity on the vendor side as well.

It is important to note that Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. For Jains, Diwali marks the attainment of moksha or nirvana by Mahavira in 527 BC.

Cashing in on Durga Puja celebrations

Durga Puja – Bengal’s biggest cultural extravaganza and everybody celebrates on full scale and dimensions – Durga Puja is now a brand unto itself. So much so that the traditional word of mouth publicity is apparently on its way out with professionally managed PR (public relations) agencies stepping in. almost all the vendors cash on to this phenomenon and place their products and solutions right where people can notice them on the streets as well as on the channel partner showrooms.

Whether it is big brands which have global presence like HP, Canon, Samsung etc or the local brands in Kolkata, all the brands go for attractive channel as well as end user focused schemes in order to attract them for a bigger and better deal. It is the right time to catch them with numbers and initiate better growth and productivity. This year is even more special as a lot more is said to be at stake. Most of the experts feel that this is the perfect time to place products on to the top shelves and create profitability in hard times.

Such festivities are also seen in good light, a way to create prosperity and contentment among the channel community. Most of the channel partners feel that this is the ideal time for them to look for better pastures and hence, new deals are being signed, new showrooms are being decorated even the existing ones are being well equipped to handle the rush.

As India is a land of festivals, it usually gives the public as well as the business community a big a genuine reason to smile their worries away and embrace profitability and prosperity ahead for the good times to come.
