Global storage solutions provider WD will be focusing on several product lines at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK, including its recently launched second-generation Red SOHO NAS drives.

The first-generation Red drives were launched in 2012 and are said to have been the first hard drives on the market that were purpose built for 1-to-5 bay network attached storage (NAS) enclosures designed for homes and small offices.
“With the recent launch of our second-generation Red drives WD became the only storage vendor in the world to offer a 2.5-inch drive designed for 1-to-5 bay SOHO NAS enclosures,” said Khwaja Saifuddin, senior sales director, Middle East, Africa & South Asia, WD. The company will also be showcasing its consumer electronic (CE) and audio video (AV) focused drives, the WD AV-GP and WD AV-25.
“GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK provides a strong platform for us to reach out to people in the consumer, SMB and enterprise spaces from across the Middle East and Africa regions,” Saifuddin added.
WD recently conducted a training seminar for vendors, integrators and resellers focusing on the digital surveillance segment in the region. A WD field application engineer (FAE) was flown in specifically for this training session which took place in Dubai on September 16. According to WD, this was the first time a storage vendor conducted an AV training session in the region and it was well attended and received.
