China based ZTE Corporation, having a portfolio of products covering every sector of the wireline, wireless, terminal and service markets to the telecom market in India today announced that it is targeting a revenue of $ 800 Million in 2014. Wherein, the $ 500 Million will be from Smart phone and remaining $ 300 Million will be achieved from Terminal business said Xu Dejun, CEO, ZTE India in a statement while inaugrating first experience zone in Gurgaon today. The ZTE exclusive zone in Gurgaon will showcase the company’s limited edition of smartphones, data cards and accessories. The company plans to set up more stores in other high potential cities and will continue to invest aggressively in terminal business.
ZTE will leverage its strong position in the global smartphone market to develop products focused on three key segments: 4 G, high end devices, and phones based on newer platforms such as latest Adroid, Windows and the Firefox operating system while ZTE India will also focus on strengthening its 4G: TD – LTE and FDD – LTE, bearer and transmission network, FTTH, medium – sized / Enterprise businesses and cloud computing in the next year.
“On the operator front, we have built and sustained strong relationships with the major India telecom players offering them best-in-class products and services while complying with all government regulations. Having forayed into the open mobile handsets market, we look ahead to offering a similar experience to end consumers ” added Xu Dejun.
Speaking about the Technology and R& D facility, Mr. Amit Saxena Director Marketing , ZTE India said, ” We are developing our own UI which is user based while providing country specific requirement with all necessary certifications and focusing battery life, dual SIM and changing hardware as per Indian cosumer.” From Service front LTE India is planning to provide ” at your doorstep” service model in select cities in 2014. ZTE key focus in India is continue to play the role of a technology enabler and innovator with its ecosystem partners to ensure that the benefits of LTE touch the lives of every Indian. ZTE will continue to focus on 4G along with 3G and 2G added Amit Saxena.
On asking about the go to market strategy Sudhir Gaur, Director Sales, ZTE India said, ” HCL Infosystem has been appointed as distributor for ZTE datacard whereas smartphone will be pushed throught telecom channel partners and we will be doing online campaigns to create awareness among end customers.” We are planning 6000 key retail outlets and targeting $ 1.5 to $ 2 million from smart phones to emerge as one of the top 3 Smart phone player in the country by 2016 added Sudhir Gaur.
Realizing an upward trend in the e-commerce segment the company will soon open an online store to address the needs of its growing customer base.
