AT&T, Bharti Airtel agreement benefits MNCs

With the new strategic agreement between AT&T and Bharti Airtel, Multinational companies (MNC) in India now have greater access to advanced networking solutions. This major agreement demonstrates AT&T’s global strategy to support its MNC customers wherever their business takes them.

AT&T already has eight nodes in Delhi/National Capital Region, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. Under the Network-to-Network Interconnect (NNI) agreement, AT&T customers have access to more than 100 cities across India via Bharti Airtel’s more than 130 Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled IP Network nodes. This lets multinational customers enjoy:

  • End-to-end fully managed MPLS capabilities. It will offer consistent AT&T services from wherever they work in India, from the first-tier cities covered by AT&T’s existing network to all of the nation’s key smaller cities and high-growth areas.
  • A cost-effective, thorough and strong network. They can also expand their global MPLS virtual private networks (VPNs) to locations across India.
  • Consistent performance across all sites and a single point of contact for service-level agreement (SLA) management.
  • Easy contracting and billing.

“AT&T’s goal is to give customers the same experience whether they are expanding into India or internationally from India,” says Sanjiv Bhagat, Sales Center Vice President, India, AT&T. “Our agreement with Bharti Airtel brings together two of the world’s largest telecommunications companies to better serve customers across India with high-quality services that help multinationals be more productive and efficient.”

AT&T has been present in India for more than 25 years. With network facilities across the country and the new NNI interconnections with the Bharti Airtel network, it offers enhanced VPN services and solutions to its enterprise customers in India, including MNCs. The network in India connects with the IP-based AT&T Global Network to allow access to consistent, reliable and secure services. AT&T services worldwide include network consulting, design and implementation, unified communications, managed VPNs, global managed mobility, managed security services and co-location services, among others.
