Electronica Tough Carb Limited Replaces SAP with Infor LN

Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, has announced that Electronica Tough Carb Limited, an SRP Electronica venture company, and a leading manufacturer, supplier and exporter of Tungsten Carbide products, has gone live with Infor LN to achieve the next phase of its business growth.

Additionally, Infor ION will provide integration between Infor and third-party applications to help drive agility, speed and incorporate better business intelligence. Infor partner Godrej InfoTech Limited implemented the Infor solution with accuracy and speed for the metal tools manufacturing pioneer.

As a pioneer in providing a complete range of industry-leading Tungsten Carbide-based products, Electronica Tough Carb Ltd. (ETCL) follows stringent quality control processes for every stage of product manufacturing from raw material to finished product.

“We are committed to delivering the highest quality products and services at competitive prices to maximise client satisfaction. With a mission to derive growth by constantly setting industry benchmarks through innovation, we needed an ERP solution to streamline our business processes for achieving enhanced productivity, deep visibility into our operations, increased accountability and accuracy. It was imperative to select a specific solution which is robust enough to support our growth ambitions and Infor clearly demonstrated deep understanding of our metal working business requirements. We are confident of deriving increased strategic value from this implementation as we fast track our business growth to stay ahead of the competition curve,” says Shrikant Pophale, Chairman, SRP Electronica Group.

Atul Sareen, Managing Director, Infor India, says, “With the ever increasing complexity of managing growth in the present economic scenario, customers are looking for purpose-built enterprise applications that best fit their industry’s business requirements without needing extensive modifications. We are delighted to work with ETCL and demonstrate our deep domain understanding of the metal working manufacturing sector backed by our micro-vertical specific applications that will help them to achieve higher levels of efficiency, productivity and growth. With a trusted Infor partner like Godrej Infotech, we are dedicated to delivering the best quality products and services to our clients in this demanding industrial manufacturing sector.”

With Infor LN completely replacing the existing ERP system from SAP, ETCL aims to automate business processes across locations, gain more complete visibility into inventory and operating expenses and streamline costing procedures to drive increased efficiency, accuracy and accountability of resources on a centralised platform.

In a bid to make its operations and business processes more efficient and profitable, ETCL was using generic ERP tools from SAP to address the complex business operations of producing Tungsten Carbide products. Infor LN provides deep micro-vertical functionality for ETCL through a purpose-built application to streamline business operations and raise operational efficiency.

ETCL was facing issues with inaccurate inventory management due to previously having to manually reconcile its raw materials and finished goods stocks. Additionally, the company lacked visibility in tracking materials movement and registering cost of repairing faulty instruments. With Infor LN, ETCL aims to drastically increase accuracy in material reconciliation by automating recoveries and non-recoveries of its inventory. Infor LN is also expected to help ETCL smooth material movement processes and align registration of instrument repair costs.

Additionally, the company required better accurate operating cost visibility for each batch operation and sought to eliminate standardised costing for different product orders. Infor LN is designed to deliver real-time insight into the progress of each batch for calculating accurate utilisation of material and processes involved in a production cycle. This added insight, in turn, helps the company calculate the actual cost of product; reduce operating expenses and retrieve reliable information for its accounting division to factor in accurate costing and billing procedures.
