Dell and NetSuite are expanding their relationship, where in Dell, the PC maker will be handed NetSuite’s cloud-based ERP system to sell as it expands its enterprise coverage away from the traditional low margin PC & server business.
The deal works for both firms. NetSuite will benefit from having access to Dell’s huge global sales and services organizations, as well as its expertise across healthcare, financial services, retail, manufacturing and e-commerce. Dell also will customize NetSuite software as needed to a customer’s needs, and help companies complete the tough job of moving their data to new financial software and training employees how to use it. The agreement builds on an existing partnership between NetSuite and a part of Dell called Boomi, which helps companies mesh together their old and new software.
The combination provides a sound foundation of technology and expertise for global CIOs and CFOs to unify, grow or replace their ERP systems across their entire organization.
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. Meanwhile, customers who sign up for NetSuite will pay Dell, which will throw a percentage cut of each sale back to its partner.
