AsRock unveils AM1 series motherboards

AMD has recently announced their AM1 platform which comes with an APU and socket combination. The APUs consists of four CPU cores along with the perfect integrated graphics architecture, supports up to DDR3 1600MHz, and bears the AMD Athlon and AMD Sempron APU brands. To welcome this new platform, ASRock releases 3 AM1 motherboards, including AM1H-ITX, AM1B-ITX and AM1B-M (Two Mini-ITX and one Micro ATX board).

The top of the line board of the innovative AM1 Series APU motherboards – AM1H-ITX is equipped with dual power input options. Replacing the traditional power supply connector with a DC-In jack that draws power from 19V power adapters plus a 24-pin ATX power connector that meets any power supply.

Being a very attractive mini-ITX motherboard, AM1H-ITX provides rich components, including all solid capacitors, 4 graphics outputs (D-Sub, DVI-D, HDMI, and Display Port), high expandability with 4 SATA3 6Gb/s, 4 USB 3.0 ports, and a useful mini-PCIe slot for connecting a WiFi card.

The new AM1 motherboards are built with ASRock High Density Glass Fabric PCB technology which effectively reduces the gaps between the PCB layers to protect the motherboards against electrical shorts caused by humidity. Full Spike Protection technology also protects it against excessive currents from the power supply unit, sudden and violent voltage spikes caused by lightning, and electrostatic discharge.

As Mini-PCs are getting more and more popular, a low power consuming APU paired with a mini-ITX motherboard will be the best option.
