MediaTek opens R&D center in Bengaluru, invest $200mn

Mediate, the chip design company has opened a new R&D facility in Bengaluru which will focus on developing innovative and inclusive solutions for wireless communications and establish MediaTek’s presence in other core segments such as connectivity and home entertainment devices. The R&D facility will develop solutions for the surging super mid market.

MediaTek will be investing $200million in India over next few years to focus on Semiconductor industry. The R&D center will develop solutions for wireless communications, explore opportunities across MediaTek’s broad spectrum of technologies, and bring the solutions for billions of consumers in India. The company sees business landscape and infrastructure as an area for enormous potential growth and enables the continued development of high quality affordable solutions in super mid market.

The new center will work in collaboration with other globally located R&D facilities of MediaTek to design solutions that combine hardware, software and services to deliver a seamless cross platform experience to consumers.
