Private Cloud Matures Hybrid Cloud is Next

With the enterprise community coming forward to embrace, the cloud way has become their way of life and it is not becoming a part of their DNA system. In an interaction with Hideo Tsuru, Director and Senior VP Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic, itVARnews finds out where does India stand on Hybrid Cloud global turf.

  1. How do you look at the adoption of HYBRID cloud in India?

I think that the trend from private cloud to hybrid cloud is the same on a worldwide basis including India. Vendors in India need to prepare for that.

  1. What is the benefit and risk involved in Hybrid cloud?

Merits of public cloud are the instancy and low cost. Risks are external storage and potential leakage of information.

Merits of private cloud are unique and strong system designs for each company. The demerit is the cost.

Hybrid cloud obtains the both merits by combining private and public clouds.

  1. Hybrid cloud is suitable for what all verticals or industry, specifically?

Any field is applicable. Generally speaking, public cloud is used for commonly used field, such as web and e-mail that is common across companies and industries.

And private cloud is used for original systems and fields handling highly confidential information.

  1. Please throw some light on the architecture required for building up Hybrid cloud in terms of hypervisor and hardware platforms, applications en all?

Hitachi Systems Ltd. is focusing on VMware, HyperV, blade server, storage, Exchange, SharePoint and backup etc.

As our added value, we are providing one stop services including data center, system design and installation, operation and monitoring and maintenance services.

  1. Do you really think organizations in India are ready to move to Hybrid cloud? If yes, how to manage that type of environment in terms of resource provisioning, scalability and performance?

We added our system management know-how on the management functions of VMware and HyperV.

We are providing these services (RODv4, PHPC, Office365, AWS services and so on) in Japan. We will provide them in India in accordance with the market needs.

  1. What are the challenges organizations faces in switching from one cloud to another? And what measures they should take while transforming?

The most important thing is to migrate with certainty and safety without interrupting services to a customer. Therefore it is necessary to perform sufficient preparation, tests, and rehearsals of shift work, etc. carefully. Another important thing is benefits corresponding to the cost after the system migration. The benefit means not only economical profits but also the quality of services or solidity and so on.

  1. Has cloud computing fully evolved as a technology?

There is no completion (end) in the technical world. Cloud computing is being widely accepted by customers, and it seems that it will be used in the various fields from now on. New needs (challenges) will be born in it and they will be solved with new technology.

  1. First Private cloud then Public cloud and now Hybrid cloud is the buzz. Will Hybrid cloud going to be a final technology in cloud or you think we will be going to see more clouds in future?

Newer technology will be added to hybrid cloud technology and it might be called by another name. I think new clouds will be born.

  1. What all things one should keep in mind while selecting a Vendor, solution provider or System Integrator for deploying cloud?

Do they have the ability to construct cloud environment? And are they able to operate and manage the cloud environment properly? The more important thing is if they have the ability to understand (predict) customer’s problems and solve them with the customer.

10. Please list the top players in this market?

VMware, Microsoft, Amazon, Google and we, Hitachi Systems (are continuously brushing up our technology to be included in the group)
