Vishal Sikka, CEO&MD, Infosys meet Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Communications &IT & Law& Justice to discuss about the Digital India
Concept of the new government and how IT companies can be involved in the INR1lakhcrore Digital India Program.
This was a follow up meeting between the two after their first meeting in Berlin last month. Ravi Shankar Prasad stressed that Infosys being a prime IT company should consider investing in a big way in India to make the Digital India Dream a success.
Prasad has also asked Sikka to spread the intention of new government in attracting foreign investment to Make in India and to motivate the motivate the potential investors to set up industries specially in electronics manufacturing in India.
The IT Secretary highlighted the different attractive measures taken by the Department, to incentivize the setting up of local manufacturing in Electronics sector. Sikka on his part stressed the need to catch the opportunity existing in the IT sector now.
Under the Digital India Concept the government has envisaged to create various IT based solutions, including delivery of services to public like health, education, financial services, secure email system for government officials and develop IT platform for sending messages.
