Oracle Adds Dedicated Sales Force for Cloud Solutions in India

Oracle India is ramping up its cloud business with the addition of adedicated sales force that will sell Oracle Cloud solutions. The company announced that it plans to hire more than 200salesprofessionals to accelerate and ramp up its cloud business in the India.This comes on the heels of strong quarterly earnings driven bycloud revenue. The press release claimed Oracle Cloud delivers the industry’sbroadest suite of enterprise-grade public cloud services, including data asa service (DaaS), software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service(PaaS), and infrastructure as a service (IaaS).

Oracle India is expanding its cloud sales organization to include morespecialized sales, business development, and post sales support executives.Hiring will take place across Oracle’s nine sales offices throughout India.Oracle employs professionals in India across sales and marketing,R&D, consulting, direct sales for international markets, global support, andglobal financial and accounting operations. This additional sales force willbe dedicated to helping customers transition to the cloud.

The press release mentioned some pointers on cloud adoption in India:

  • Oracle Cloud services across human capital management (HCM), salesautomation (CRM), ERP, marketing, analytics, database, and Java, among manyother technology areas, are gaining momentum as the preferred cloud solutionamong a multitude of Indian firms – those running legacy systems, as well asnew firms and start-ups.
  • Large organizations like Apollo Hospitals, Bharti Learning, HDFCBank, Maruti Motors, HeroMotoCorp are deploying various Oracle Cloudsolutions in a hybrid model (private or public cloud with on-premises).
  • Other growth companies like Altimetriks, Haeir, Kalpataru, Nature’sFeast and SRL Diagnostics, among others are using Oracle SaaS for HR, talentmanagement, sales automation, customer service and modern marketing.
  • New firms or start-ups have been at the forefront of cloud adoptionin India. Companies like bookmyshow.com, flipkart.com, jabong.com,makemytrip.com among others are leveraging Oracle Cloud solutions to managetheir workforce and also integrate marketing, sales, customer service,back-end processes, and customer feedback to get a 360 degree view of theircustomer. Oracle Cloud helps them combine their existing disparate channelsincluding Web, chat, social, email and voice transactions into a unified,cross-channel and holistic view in the cloud.
