1. For equipping a modern enterprise with a competitive advantage, which technologies would you focus on most, as a solutions support provider?
Data Security: We are living in an era where information is the most critical component of an enterprise. It is vital for a modern enterprise to safeguard important data and hence a technology which safeguards the data and the infrastructure where it resides is critical. As a solution support provider, we focus on ensuring the highest standards of data security while offering our services to our customers.
Data Transformation: It is also important to utilize the data within the enterprise (structured and unstructured) as well as the data from external sources to derive intelligent insights for business decisions. The technologies which enable creation of a big data and analytics framework to ensure effective analysis of data for strategic decision making is very important in enabling organizations gain a competitive edge. We are creating a comprehensive bouquet of “Big Data and Analytics” services to give the modern enterprise a competitive edge.
Compliance: The data that the organization holds has to comply with various regulatory and compliance norms and standards. The efficiency of the enterprise’s business processes gets a fillip if a proper Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) framework is in place. In this regard, we have partnered with one of the leading companies in this space to offer their Enterprise wide GRC solution to our customers.
2. How do you see CloSoMo changing the support landscape?
The applications and infrastructure supported by us may have different and varied inputs (social), new modes and styles of being served to the end user (mobility) and hosting and retrieval mechanisms (cloud). However, we don’t see cloud, social and mobility impacting the support landscape much.
I believe it will impact the transactional landscape and the way data is accessed, consumed, hosted, analyzed will undergo a tectonic shift, if it hasn’t already.
3. With the cloud taking over a large number of operational functions in any enterprise, do you see physical data centers on their way out?
The Cloud is a concept that will play a role in optimizing the infrastructure footprint and the total cost of ownership with respect to the infrastructure requirements of an organization. I do not see physical datacenters on their way out. On the contrary, I would only see them growing proportional to the acceptance of the cloud by enterprises in India.
4. For Clover Infotech, what are the focus areas of service and support?
The focus areas for Clover Infotech would be:
- Big Data and Analytics
- Mobility for Transaction Services
- Implementation of Governance, Risk and compliance frameworks and corresponding support
5. Which areas do you see growing in the next two years, in terms of technology?
The areas I see growing are:
1. Big Data and Analytics as they help fetch real-time inputs vital for strategic decision making.
2. Mobility for transaction services: With the mobile becoming much more than a communication device and people becoming increasingly comfortable with transactions on mobile, the scope for enhancing the mobility experience in transaction services has increased manifold. Companies which are able to create seamless user experience on mobile for transactions will become brands in their own right – in very quick time.
6. Which geographies do you plan to expand into?
We are very keen to expand our presence and client base in the US and Europe. In India, we plan to expand to some of the Indian metros and Tier 1 cities where we do not have a presence.
7. The service industry’s business model is moving towards managed services, steadily. How is Clover Infotech planning on doing it?
We are already tuned to this and have bagged two important application managed services contracts in the last six months – one from a leading bank and another form a leading life insurance company. Our experience over the last two decades in supporting our customers both on critical applications and the underlying infrastructure makes us well prepared to deliver as per a managed services model. We are already serving many customers on the infrastructure managed services front as well. In the coming year, we plan to significantly increase the number of managed services engagements across our customer base.
8. Any new products or technologies that you plan to introduce in the market over the next few months?
We are keenly focused on Big Data and Analytics. We understand that there are several misconceptions around Big Data and Analytics in terms of its cost and value proposition. Our aim is to partner with our customers and travel this journey together. We intend to provide strong and strategic value proposition to our customers through these services.
We also see Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) as a key area and are focused on empowering our customers with an enterprise wide GRC framework.
