Meghalaya Government organizes workshop on IT Procurement Practices under the Digital India Week

As a part of the ongoing Digital India Week, Meghalaya Government organized a state-level, sensitization workshop on Good IT Procurement Practices for e-Governance projects in partnership with MAIT, the apex body representing ICT sector in India, Accenture, and BSA – The Software Alliance, and DELL.

The primary purpose of this series of workshops,which would be held in various States across the country, is to bring forward an efficient IT Procurement Regimethat can lead to more & more successful e-Governance projects, the press release from MAIT said.

While setting the overall context of the Workshop, Mr. Anwar Shirpurwala, Executive Director, MAIT, referred to the Prime Minister’saddress at the launch of the Digital India Mission and said that “Programs like Digital India require a full-fledged ecosystem to succeed and one of the most important pillars in this regard is having a mutually-trusting relationship between the industry and the Government. Adopting fair and consistent public procurement procedures for IT products & services would definitely contribute towards this cause”.
