The flagship annual event of Infotech Software Dealers Association (ISODA), the ISODA TechSummit 7, held on Feb 16th-19th, 2017 at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, was grand success .
ISODA is a platform for software dealers, who are engaged in the business of reselling packaged software products across India. This event is held annually for the members of ISODA to participate and exchange business concerns and views. It facilitates peer-to-peer dialogue, setting the base for insightful contributions from a cross-section of experts.
The official theme for the Summit 2017 was “Xcel, Xcellerate, Xceed”. explained- Xcel through strengthening the alliances, Xcellerate yourself for the next level of skillsets and Xceeed not just as an individual but also as an entire team and stakeholder, with the agenda focused on identifying new opportunities, by a series of specialized sessions and informal as well as formal networking opportunities between members and principals.
Rajeev Mamidanna, Vice President and TechSummit 7 Chairman – ISODA, in his welcome speech, quoted 4 leaders that included the former Indian captain of Indian cricket team, M.S.Dhoni. Stating the common qualities among them, Rajeev mentioned that best leaders come only at tough time.
Reports from ISODA committee say that the Summit was a grand success with the sponsoring OEMs as well as the ISODA Members.
The messages from both the sponsor and partner communities were clear. The Sponsors – Simplivity , Sophos ,Profectum , Radware,Sonicwall, Redhat Edimax,Interlabs, Rah Infotech & Symphony Summit presented in a crisp and clear manner on technology developments, increasing complexity of customer requirements and what was required to increase the skill sets of partners to be relevant.
Biren Shah, Managing Director, Adit Microsys and Jagannath Kallakurchi, Managing Director & CEO at Choice Solutions , discussed on the key opportunities for channel partners in the current scenario. They stressed the importance of having a strategies for the trends like E-payments, changes in the Visa policies from the government and data management. It was observed that GST is a double-sided sword and the next big thing is mobile. The participants were asked to look beyond the comfort-zone, invest in technologies and collaborate with startups.
ISODA also honored its members with Business Excellence Awards on the second day of the Summit. The association honored five solution providers for their achievements in business with the Business Excellence award.
This year, there were 10 nominees which were ranked on different scales by the Jury committee of three members L Ashok CEO, Futurenet Technologies; Alok Gupta of Softmart, Delhi and Dhruv Dua, Income Tax Consultant for ISODA. The final nominees were:

The awards were given under 5 categories; Business Excellence, License Sales, Niche Technologies, Business Transformation and Security.
This year Vapi, Gujarat based Enjay IT solutions an ISV (Independent software vendor) bagged award for Business Excellence.
LDS Infotech from Mumbai won Business Excellence awards in License Sales Category. Business Excellence Niche Technologies awards is given to Chennai based KKM Soft. Business Excellence Business Transformation award goes to Ahmedabad based Dev Information Technologies. Secure Network Solutions of Chennai bagged Business Excellence award in Security category.
