The cons of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is leaving prominent footprints on the mankind. However, apart from its several pros, it has its fair share of cons as well.

The high cost is one of the major disadvantages of AI. The classical case with the arrival of any new technology, AI suffers on the economical background too. Owing to complex AI machines, its creation, repair, and maintenance require huge costs. To cater to the needs of the changing environment and the need for the machines to be smarter by the day, they have software programs which need frequent upgradation. The procedure to recover lost codes and reinstating the system in the case of severe breakdownsmight require huge time and cost.

However otherwise the technical experts may argue, the truth is AI cannot replace human beings. They perform what is programmed and are not well-equipped to handle unfamiliar situations. In such cases, they either perform incorrectly or breakdown.

This also leads to the fact that AI cannot improve with experience. Its only destiny with time leads to wear and tear. Machines are unable to adapt to changing environments, they cannot alter their response.

Creativity or imagination is not the forte of AI. They might help you design and create, but they cannot match the power of thinking that the human brain has or even the originality of a creative mind. Human beings have inherent intuitive abilities which a machine completely lacks.
