Boeing India Engineering and Technology Centre (BIETEC) will focus on areas such as data analytics, enterprise resource planning, software design for aerospace, the most relevant of them all at present, Internet of Things (IoT), and other such technologies. The centre will also see a 3DX lab for 3D experiences, a lab for IoT and analytics and mobility, and a system integration lab for testing proofs-of-concept. BIETEC will also add another 2,500 employees to get the new project rolling.

As per Boeing, they see India as a hotbed for path-breaking software solutions that can redefine the way the world designs, operates and manages aeroplanes. The IT talent and capabilities in India can be an enabler for Boeing’s success around the world. The centre will also look at aerospace materials, manufacturing, aircraft structures, and health of aeroplanes by bringing together engineers from the fields of aerospace, computer science, and mathematics to collaborate for achieving next-gen breakthroughs for aircraft design, manufacturing, and maintenance.
