The launch of Bitcoin (BTC) not just created a cryptocurrency but also put a spotlight on blockchain technology. kickstarting an entirely new industry comprised of companies developing applications underpinned by blockchain. In the last couple of years, hundreds of blockchain startups have been launched. Let’s take a look at some of the most innovative of them.

TWO IoT

Several blockchain startups have also entered the waste management industry, one of which is TWO IoT which has developed sensors that measure how full a trash bin is and then send this data to the waste management company.IOTA’s Tangle ledger originating from a partnership between TWO IoT and fellow Taipei-based startupBiilabs store all information about collecting trash and deposit it in a landfill.To store information, Tangle uses an efficient system called Directed Acyclic Graph. Tangle can process multiple transactions simultaneously at zero cost in this way, hence best suited for IoT devices. In early 2018, a pilot program of TWO IoT’s was implemented at Taipei City Hall. IOTA is also an increasingly popular payment method.

Propy

One of the most innovative blockchain startups in the real estate industry, Propy offers a platform with real estate listings that can be purchased with cryptocurrency. Currently, there are about 15,000 properties listed on Propy’s website, situated in Los Angeles, Moscow, San Francisco, New York, London, and Dubai. Propy also has an Ethereum-based property registry in addition to selling real estatethat tracks real estate ownership which helps in eliminating many inefficiencies in property rights registration systems. Propy completed the first transfer of rights for a property in South Burlington, Vermont using its registry in 2018.
