VXL Instrument is a 40 year old India MNC, with presence across the globe in USA, UK, Germany, France (Asia to Europe). Focusing on thin and zeroclients, VXL is one of the leading computing, data analytics, cloud computing, softwares, Thin Client developers in india. Aditya Bhuwania, Director, VXL – Advanced Indian Technological Indian MNC informs about VXL’s solutions and market outreach and shares his opinion on how COVID19 is altering his GTM plans.
What are the products, solutions and services specifically in the VXL portfolio for the Indian market?
VXL Instruments over a period of time has turned out to be one of the leaderS in High Performing Thin Client products and related software solutions like customised OS and enterprise level Device Management solution – Fusion UDM Professional. Over the last couple of years, we have added new products to our stable – these being firstly Fusion UEM, which is a complete Universal Endpoint Management product, and can be used to manage Android, iOS, Windows desktop and Windows Server based devices. Another product is the Illumineye Digital Signage solution – which is and end-to-end solution including Creator, Scheduler and Player. All the end user would need to add is a Display. Our products are respected not only in India but also across the globe. These have been a perfect complement to solutions provided by our partners such as Lenovo.
What are VXL’s differentiators vis a vis the other thin client Vendors operating in the market?
I believe our major competitors are a couple of very large international multi-nationals (Vmware, Citrix) and a few local companies. Because we manufacture our own thin clients, one of the key advantages we can offer is our ability to customise our products in many cases to meet the requirements of customers based on a minimum order size. Customers have the option of bundling our Fusion UDM Pro when purchasing our thin clients. Fusion UDM Pro is designed for our thin clients, customers can also use this to manage Windows based Thin Clients of other Brands.
What are your specific GTM strategies for the Indian market? What sort of partner ecosystem has been in place?
Due to the current Covid-19 crisis the market is in a somewhat standstill situation. Due to the current restrictions, we are supplying our services via work from home. We are focusing more on retaining the customers, by providing them continued support as and when they need at this juncture. We would plan our growth strategy once the situation and market settles down, post Covid-19.
We have a wide range of reputed partners such as Microsoft, Lenovo, Citrix, VMware etc.
What are VXL’s business and operating models? In light of the COVID19 crisis how has this model got impacted?
We are mainly selling our products through the channel, and all our products are used by businesses rather than consumers. It is true that in the current scenario the supply chain has been impacted, but once we get past this difficult period, we will work with all our major channel partners, on how to best to move forward. Although business is affected currently, we do expect this to start picking up once restrictions are removed and businesses start operating again.
Who are your marquee clients and what are the top 3 verticals you witness maximum traction?
Our marquee clients are TCS, Dominos, UN Peace Keeping Force (supplied by our US office). Our top three verticals are BPOs, fast food chains, and the healthcare industry where we are currently seeing the maximum traction.
During this COVID19 crisis what are the measures you have undertaken to continue your own business without disruption as well as uninterrupted service for customers?
We are trying to create an atmosphere of calm among the employees, who are currently working from home. We are also providing our customers with support not only in India, as well as internationally remotely. Over the last 3 weeks of shutdown, we have been successfully able to continue with our support as well as software development work and meeting our delivery schedules successfully.
We have recently debuted our Illumineye Digital Signage at ISE, Netherlands held earlier in February
What are the contingency plans you have put in place and what sort of business and financial impact you expect for VXL if this crisis persists or gets escalated?
We are coming up with two new products which can be applied by customers all over the globe even in this current crisis and lockdown, as businesses are forced to have staff working from home. Perhaps going forward, it might become a more common option for several businesses. These are CloudDesktop on the Go and Fusion SecureDesktop These products allow businesses to enable their employees who are forced to work from home, to be able to do so in a secure manner when they connect to the corporate infrastructure.
I believe everyone needs an eco-friendly and high performing technology to work effectively and efficiently.
