COVID19 & Lockdown: What will be the impact on the economy with respect to ICT industry?

Pranav Pandya, Co-Founder & Chairman, Dev Information Technology Limited : We just cannot wish it away. With the varieties of the hot spots cropping up, the relaxation will be very partial. Lock down also will be in a partial format. But no specific date or a time period can be placed beyond that. I think everybody is aware about it especially since I am working closely with the government sector and the public sector.

Sunny Sharma CEO & CTO – Foetron : The right way to look into this long term perspective is to hope for the best and plan for the worst. And the worst thing that you should plan for is about a year’s time. That you will not be able to get back to the normal days that you had before 21st of March is what the planning should be about. And we should all hope for the best that it goes away as soon as possible. In 2020, we are in the best place possible with the right Internet and infrastructure available for the country in terms of Internet and ISPs. Imagine this happening in 2010. So we should leverage on all the new opportunities that are offered in 2020.

Neel Shah, Chairman & MD – Insight Business Machines Pvt: This phase is full of uncertainty. COVID19 is going to last long for days or months or it could be a year as well. So there would be definite impact as far as Indian mid-tier or may be MSME or the enterprise is concerned. I am sure that multiple bailouts are going to be seen in this year 2020. The impact is going to be very high. The only thing which is going to help us survive and sustain is our attitude. That attitude only will give you that energy to move further, move forward and take your business further and forward.
