The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur, has announced a collaboration with Microsoft India for digital innovation and collaboration in healthcare services, medical education, and research. The two organizations will develop a Mixed Reality Centre of Excellence at AIIMS, Jodhpur, to deliver cutting-edge medical care, strengthen remote healthcare capabilities, and facilitate learning opportunities for staff and students.
The collaborative effort is an outgrowth of the government’s continuous efforts to revolutionize the last-mile delivery of world-class healthcare services in India through the use of innovative and advanced technological platforms. With this agreement, AIIMS Jodhpur will establish a Mixed Reality Healthcare Lab to give medical students increased learning possibilities through the use of mixed reality devices such as the HoloLens 2. AIIMS Jodhpur will also test mixed reality-enabled remote healthcare services in the Sirohi district, near Jodhpur, in order to improve healthcare delivery to underserved areas.
