ManageEngine Shares Expansion Plans as it Turns 20

ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corp, has shared a two-pronged strategy for growth in the Indian market. The company is targeting to expand its employee base to service its customers as well as expand its infrastructure base across the country.

ManageEngine is targeting to double its headcount in India over the next four years. The company shared plans to grow its Indian workforce by adding 1000 employees in 2022; the year marks two decades of the company’s presence as a global technology provider. The company has over 4000 employees in India, which it is targeting to increase by 25 percent this year.

The company is planning to expand across India in a hub and spoke model. Currently, it has three hubs and 20 rural offices as spokes; it has plans to add 2 more hub locations by the end of this year, one of the hubs is planned in north India.

Sridhar Vembu, CEO and Co-Founder, Zoho Corp said that the company has a major push on building and hiring skilled resources and with its high employee focus, it has got one of the lowest attrition rates in the industry. The company is heavily focused on adding strength to the customer-facing workforce. “We invest heavily in R&D, product design, and integration so that our customers can accelerate their digital transformation. We invest heavily in support so that our customers have a reliable partner to navigate a fast-changing landscape. We are in IT for the long haul, so customers can trust us to be around.”

As India grows to the third-largest market for ManageEngine behind the United States and the United Kingdom, the company has seen tremendous revenue growth of 213 percent over the last five years in India. The company grew its revenues by over 63 percent in FY2020-21 in India. The company also highlighted that the customer count doubled over the last five years with over 30 percent new customers added in FY2020-21.

Shailesh Davey, Co-Founder & Vice President, Engineering, Zoho Corp said, “In India, we registered a YoY revenue growth of 63.2 percent in 2021, while our customer count increased by 26.3 percent, driven by demand primarily from the BFSI and IT services and solutions sectors.” He added, “With three key pillars driving growth—hybrid work, cloud adoption, and the government’s digital push—ManageEngine plans to hire around 1,000 employees in the country this year for development, R&D, and customer-facing roles.”

The company is focused on expanding the sales and services team in cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

The company is highly focused on expanding competencies and product portfolio around AI in terms of security, service management, and infrastructure monitoring. Another focus is on security in terms of ransomware/phishing detection, DLP, endpoint management, and insider threats.

The company owns, operates, and manages 12 data centers across the world with capabilities for data residency, multi-location monitoring, and threat feed sharing. In India, the company has two data centers and two point-of-presence (PoP) micro datacenters. It has plans to add 10 more PoP data centers over the next couple of years in India.

“India is the fastest-growing market for us, wherein we have over 2500 customers currently. Starting as an on-premise solutions provider, we have transformed into a cloud services provider with over 80 percent of our products on cloud,” shared Rajesh Ganesan, VP, Product Management, ManageEngine.

“Moving ahead, the major focus will be on developing a platform to build technology management solutions for the digital enterprise. At the same time, the focus is on building a services team for extensive customer support and services,” he added.
