CyberRes, a Micro Focus, has announced a new version of Voltage File Analysis Suite (FAS), a cloud platform that combines the latest in data discovery and data protection. SmartScan, a tool for intelligent sampling and dynamic tagging for petabyte scale data discovery, is among the new capabilities of Voltage FAS, allowing data analysts to uncover areas of higher data risk faster.

Voltage FAS is not constrained by geographic or political limits, allowing users to reach and maintain compliance standards with the world’s expanding number of privacy rules. Voltage FAS raises worldwide privacy awareness by utilizing dynamic data masking and contextually aware entity detection across 39 countries and economic regions.
Voltage FAS is also now available as a managed security services provider (MSSP) option, in addition to its software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform. Voltage FAS understands and manages data in place and works with cloud, on-premise, and hybrid models. Voltage FAS can also be installed on private clouds, allowing enterprises to effectively identify and safeguard their sensitive data without having any data leave the region, as some regions demand data residency for organizations. Voltage FAS’ data finding capabilities are deeper and broader than others on the market. Voltage FAS supports over 1,000 file types and discovery across the most common unstructured data sources and collaboration platforms on premises and in the cloud, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange, Azure file and object stores, Google Workspaces, SMB (Samba), Amazon S3 object stores, and others via a custom connector API. Voltage FAS contains the most up-to-date Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, allowing users to find sensitive data in images such as identification scans and contracts.
