MetaShot, Bangalore’s Innovative Gaming Startup, Raises $400K in Pre-Seed Round with Inflection Point Ventures

MetaShot, a pioneering gaming startup from Bangalore, has secured a significant investment of $400K in a Pre-Seed Round, led by participation from Inflection Point Ventures. The round also drew interest from an early-stage gaming-focused fund and prominent angel investors, including Dineout’s founders – Ankit Mehrotra, Sahil Jain, and Khalid Qazi. The raised funds will be strategically employed to expand the team, fuel growth initiatives, enhance marketing efforts, and advance research and development.

MetaShot envisions bringing the exhilaration of sports to every household by democratizing the console gaming sector through its innovative technologies. These technologies will make metaphysical gaming devices accessible to millions of households, promising an immersive experience that replicates the thrill of real-world sports.

Vikram Ramasubramanian, Partner at Inflection Point Ventures, emphasized MetaShot’s potential to deliver a near-realistic cricketing experience to gamers, particularly resonating with India’s immense cricket-loving populace. With the right marketing and strategic approach, MetaShot has the capacity to tap into the vast community of cricket enthusiasts, thereby presenting a remarkable opportunity.

MetaShot’s groundbreaking platform immerses users in a cricketing environment right within their living rooms. This innovation eliminates the need to wait for specific seasons or grand stadiums – individuals can now play cricket and connect with fellow enthusiasts worldwide. The platform facilitates both friendly matches with friends and competitive play against global opponents, effectively transforming the game into a social experience. MetaShot, uniquely positioned among Indian companies, aims to disrupt the thriving global console market, creating a new segment of metaphysical gaming enthusiasts.

The company boasts a dynamic founding team, comprised of three individuals with diverse expertise and extensive experience. CEO Prince Jacob Thomas brings over 13 years of product and brand-building experience, previously holding a management position at BankBazaar.com. COO Ranjit Behera, an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and NIT Rourkela, brings a rich growth and marketing strategy background from roles at MyGate, Aditya Birla, and BankBazaar, holding two patents. CFO Ajith Sunny contributes a robust sales and operations background, with senior management roles across industries like logistics and real estate.

Co-founder Prince Thomas outlined MetaShot’s mission to revolutionize the $72 billion global gaming console market by introducing accessible metaphysical gaming. With the first product, MetaShot seeks to bring the excitement of cricket to every cricket enthusiast’s living room in India and beyond.

In a cricket-enthusiastic nation like India, MetaShot’s affordability promises to reshape the gaming landscape. Priced significantly lower than traditional consoles, MetaShot’s product opens avenues for cricket aficionados to indulge in an exciting and accessible gaming experience. An impressive achievement, MetaShot managed to sell its pre-booking spots for Bangalore within just 24 hours.

Presently operating within Bangalore, MetaShot plans to expand its operations to other cities in the upcoming financial quarter. The company also has aspirations to extend its reach to other cricket-loving nations.

The current Indian gaming gadget market, valued at $1.2 billion, is projected to grow at a substantial CAGR of 14.1%, potentially reaching over $6.3 billion by 2032. On a global scale, the gaming gadget industry currently stands at $71.2 billion, expected to surge to $157 billion by 2032.
