US-Based GDT Expanding Presence in India as Part of Global Growth Strategy

General Datatech (GDT), an internationally acclaimed IT solutions provider headquartered in the US, is set to enhance its presence in India to accommodate its expanding global clientele and diversified service portfolio. The strategic plan involves establishing a second location in India, fostering the development of emerging skills and competencies, and doubling its technical workforce over the next two years.

GDT’s Global Operations Center (GOC) in Bangalore currently employs over 170 technology professionals, offering support for networking, hybrid multi-cloud, collaboration, and security services to customers worldwide. In line with its commitment to excellence, GDT will inaugurate a research and development lab to bolster the team’s proficiency in emerging technologies.

Furthermore, GDT is poised to expand its Technology Center of Excellence in India, with a strong focus on enhancing networking, security, and data center service capabilities and operational models. By recruiting and training IT experts in cutting-edge technologies, GDT aims to streamline and accelerate the delivery of high-quality customer solutions and deliver unparalleled business value to its clients.

Shawn O’Grady, CEO of GDT, emphasized, “Our top priority is delivering superior services and business value to our customers. Through our expanded presence in the Indian market and investments in top talent and advanced capabilities, we are poised to meet the growing demands of US and global customers, innovate new service models, and enhance customer support across different time zones.”

GDT’s extensive technical knowledge and industry partnerships have seamlessly led to the introduction of as-a-service offerings with leading companies like HPE, Juniper, and Cisco. Notably, GDT has been at the forefront, spearheading a joint go-to-market strategy for the HPE Aruba Networking NaaS service pack initiative.

Looking ahead, GDT intends to significantly increase its workforce over the next two years, recruiting for various technical roles, including engineers, project and program managers, enterprise and solution architects, and more. The company will expand its early-in-career training program, providing recent graduates with foundational knowledge and skills related to GDT’s processes, methodologies, and technologies. GDT also offers comprehensive onboarding and continuous career training to help local employees enhance their expertise and attain advanced technical certifications.

Jeffrey Bannister, EVP of Enterprise Services at GDT, commented, “India, with its rich and diverse technical talent pool, is a prime location for global expansion and a key player in our long-term growth strategy. By investing in our service capabilities and Technology Center of Excellence in India, we can harness our strengths and accelerate the value we provide to our global customers. It’s a win-win for our customers, partners, and the local Indian economy.”

In September, Jeffrey Bannister and Shawn O’Grady will be in Bangalore, India, working closely with local leadership to outline strategic expansion plans.

As a global IT solutions provider, GDT empowers its clients’ digitalization and business goals by modernizing platforms, networks, and cybersecurity through cutting-edge infrastructure solutions, profound expertise, and flexible service delivery models. With a 26-year legacy and a global workforce, including its Global Operations Center in Bangalore, India, GDT has garnered recognition from partners for its expertise across its solution stack, boasting over 450 certifications with renowned technology providers. GDT’s history, knowledge base, and global reach position it as a pioneer in developing sustainable services and solutions, propelling its people to the forefront of IT thought leadership and expertise.
