Deloitte has successfully migrated its Bolt-on 2.0 platform to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Bolt-on 2.0, an enterprise resource planning (ERP)-agnostic Goods and Services Tax (GST) reporting and compliance tool, has transitioned from an on-premises data center to AWS. This move aims to optimize tax reporting and supply chain processes for businesses in India.
Bolt-on 2.0, now a cloud-based platform, leverages AWS’s robust infrastructure to automate GST reporting and compliance, streamline workflows, and enhance reliability while optimizing costs. By combining Deloitte’s industry expertise with AWS’s comprehensive cloud services, Bolt-on 2.0 offers a potent solution to address complex GST challenges, ensuring businesses meet reporting requirements seamlessly.
The initiative aligns with the Digital India initiative, emphasizing the importance of digitizing tax processes through e-invoicing and real-time transaction data submission. Bolt-on 2.0 on AWS provides an integrated solution to businesses, automating processes, enhancing supply chains, and improving decision-making. The result is increased productivity, reduced costs, optimized working capital, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
Gokul Chaudhri, President, Tax, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP, emphasized the need for agile and adaptable digital infrastructure in the face of the constantly changing tax landscape. He stated, “Deloitte aims to lead the way in the technology-enabled future of taxation by assisting businesses in accelerating their growth with solutions such as Bolt-on 2.0.”
Deloitte’s collaboration with AWS utilizes various AWS services such as Amazon Relational Database Service, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, Amazon Lambda, and Application Load Balancer, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security for the tax platform. Security measures are enhanced through AWS Security Hub and Amazon GuardDuty, automating security checks, enabling continuous monitoring, and facilitating early threat detection.
Mahesh Jaising, Partner, Service Line Leader – Indirect Tax, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP, highlighted the comprehensive nature of Bolt-on 2.0. As an ERP-agnostic cloud-based solution, it goes beyond GST compliances, incorporating robotic process automation and artificial intelligence technologies, offering businesses a wide range of modules useful for tax and non-tax executives.
Vinay Prabhakar, National Sales and Alliance Leader, Deloitte India, emphasized the collaborative approach, stating, “Our approach is built on distinct and multidisciplinary teams working towards a common goal, as we can succeed only when we come together.”
The migration of Bolt-on 2.0 to AWS positions Deloitte to deliver an advanced and differentiated experience to customers, leveraging AWS’s advanced technologies, including Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. The move is part of Deloitte’s strategy to solve complex problems through collaboration and the power of connections.
