Thales Inaugurates New Bengaluru Office, Amplifying Commitment to India’s Innovation Landscape

Thales, a global leader in Defence, Aerospace, and Digital Identity & Security, celebrated the grand opening of its second office in Bengaluru, reinforcing its dedication to India as a pivotal center for innovation and growth. This milestone signifies Thales’ continued adherence to its Make in India roadmap, aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision outlined by the Indian government, and coincides with the culmination of the company’s 70th-anniversary year.

The new state-of-the-art facility, inaugurated by Yannick Assouad, Executive Vice President, Avionics, Thales, alongside Ashish Saraf, VP and Country Director for Thales in India, expands upon the existing Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) established in Bengaluru in 2019. This extension underscores Thales’ ambitious plans to elevate its presence in the region, aiming to double its engineering workforce in India by 2027.

The ECC, a pioneering establishment focusing on software and hardware capabilities for civil and defence sectors, has been instrumental in job creation and skill development, currently employing over 500 professionals. This Bengaluru center, complemented by an additional facility in Noida, forms part of Thales’ three major engineering competency center hubs worldwide.

Thales’ engineering teams at the Bengaluru offices are engaged in developing high-value systems for aerospace and defence sectors, contributing to projects such as Air Traffic Management, sophisticated avionics systems, cockpit and flight management systems, radar software, and airborne Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance tactical management systems.

The newly unveiled office boasts a contemporary, sustainable design drawing inspiration from Dravidian architectural forms and Brahmi script, amalgamating modernity with traditional aesthetics. Featuring disabled-friendly facilities, intelligent workspaces, abundant greenery, and energy-saving features, this office aligns with Thales’ global commitments toward societal welfare and environmental sustainability.

Mr. Ashish Saraf, VP and Country Director for India at Thales, expressed pride in the company’s expanded presence, emphasizing their commitment to bolstering engineering capabilities in Bengaluru and Noida. He highlighted Thales’ dedication to fostering local talent and leveraging global expertise to drive innovation and deliver groundbreaking solutions for Indian and global clientele.
