In a recent study conducted by GoDaddy, it has been revealed that Indian small business owners are deeply committed to embracing digital transformation, utilizing technology tools to enhance efficiency and foster growth.
According to the third round of findings from the GoDaddy Data Observatory 2023, Indian entrepreneurs are actively employing digital tools such as intranet or internal social networks (74%), collaborative shared drives (72%), data storage or transfer services (69%), and video conferencing (67%).
The study also highlights a significant willingness among Indian small businesses to invest more in online sales and marketing this year, with a notable 94% expressing this inclination.
Recognizing the importance of meaningful customer experiences, Indian businesses are leveraging various tools, including digital payment systems (75%), e-mail notifications (73%), online customer service (70%), online booking systems (65%), and digital invoicing (64%). Remarkably, 74% of respondents reported using a Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM) to manage and track customer interactions, surpassing the global average of 55%.
In emphasizing the importance of digitization, Indian small businesses prioritize web security (79%), owning a website (77%), maintaining a social media presence (77%), engaging in digital advertising (77%), and having an online store (69%). The study also notes that 91% of Indian respondents have researched or purchased website protections for their sites.
This robust engagement with digital tools and strategies is reflected in India’s score of 74 on the GoDaddy Digital Index, which measures different aspects of digitalization across the surveyed countries. The findings underscore the commitment of Indian small businesses to harnessing the power of digital transformation for sustained growth and competitiveness.
