Accenture’s Cloud Expansion: Acquisition of Navisite

Accenture is set to acquire solution and service provider Navisite, adding 1,500 employees to its workforce, with nearly a third being cloud engineers. The terms of the acquisition deal, announced on Wednesday, were not disclosed. Accenture, a leading IT consulting firm, aims to strengthen its digital transformation efforts, particularly in cloud services, through this acquisition. Over 400 of the Navisite employees joining Accenture specialize in cloud engineering, bringing valuable expertise across various cloud providers. Navisite, based in Andover, Massachusetts, is known for its cloud services, including planning, migration, and optimization for public, private, and hybrid cloud deployments. The acquisition aligns with Accenture’s focus on expanding its capabilities in cloud, application services, data analytics, infrastructure services, security services, and managed services. Navisite’s CEO, Mark Clayman, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Accenture, describing them as the “ideal partner” for Navisite’s future growth. The move is part of Accenture’s ongoing acquisition strategy, with 13 acquisitions totaling $788 million announced in its most recent quarter, which ended on Nov. 30, 2023.
