Atlassian Names Shamik Sharma as Head of Engineering for its Indian Operations

Atlassian Corporation (NASDAQ: TEAM) has appointed Shamik Sharma as Head of Engineering, Commerce, and Enterprise Agility, reinforcing its India leadership team. In this role, Shamik, who brings nearly three decades of experience, will report directly to Atlassian’s CTO, Rajeev Rajan. His extensive background includes co-founding Cure.fit/Cult.sport, serving as CTO and CPO at Myntra, and holding leadership positions at companies like Lytro Inc., RockYou, StumbleUpon, Yahoo!, Confluent Software, and HP. Atlassian’s focus on building a world-class engineering team in India aligns with its goal to become a 100-year company, given India’s significance as its fastest-growing R&D site globally. Shamik’s appointment follows Atlassian’s recent hiring of Paranth Thiruvengadam as India Site Leader and Head of Engineering IT Service Management. Atlassian, recognized among the top workplaces in India, has witnessed substantial growth in India, expanding from over 60 employees five years ago to over 1,800 employees across 17 states today.
