Skoda Auto and Volkswagen Group Technology Solutions India have announced a reinforcement of their partnership, with a focus on enhancing their app portfolio, artificial intelligence capabilities, data analytics, and technology services. Volkswagen Group Technology Solutions India, operating a major IT center in India with over 2,600 computing specialists, is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group.
Skoda Auto will establish a VWITS regional office in Prague as part of this collaboration, aiming to foster closer ties and facilitate collaboration with experts in India. The joint effort will prioritize the advancement of their app portfolio, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and technology services.
The new IT hub in Prague, situated alongside Skoda Auto’s IT departments, will concentrate on developing cutting-edge technology solutions, data analysis, and artificial intelligence. The primary objective is to enhance cross-organizational connections, bolster international collaboration, and strengthen internal IT capabilities.
Initially, the VWITS regional office in Prague will offer positions for 30 experts who will collaborate with Indian colleagues to support Skoda Auto’s diverse IT initiatives. This collaboration will extend to working with local software providers, particularly in areas like logistics, production, and car sales.
This initiative is expected to enhance in-house IT proficiency, intensify international collaboration, and promote talent exchange between India and the Czech Republic. Additionally, it will facilitate long-term internships for international candidates.
Skoda Auto emphasized the significance of India as a crucial market, where it holds operational and strategic leadership roles for the Volkswagen Group and its brands. This reaffirms India’s pivotal role in Skoda Auto’s global expansion strategy.
