Broadcom and Google Cloud Expand Collaboration to Drive Enterprise Innovation

At Cloud Next ’24 in Las Vegas, Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO) and Google Cloud announced an extended partnership. This collaboration involves optimizing Broadcom’s VMware workloads for Google Cloud, joint go-to-market efforts, broadening Broadcom’s presence on Google Cloud Marketplace, and integrating Google Cloud’s generative AI capabilities.

Rich Jardine, VP of Cloud Platform Engineering and Operations at Broadcom, expressed enthusiasm about Google Cloud’s role in their digital transformation journey. He emphasized their commitment to delivering top-notch user experiences to customers leveraging cutting-edge IT infrastructure.

Kevin Ichhpurani, Corporate VP of Global Partner Ecosystem & Channels at Google Cloud, highlighted the importance of optimizing Broadcom and VMware software for Google Cloud’s secure infrastructure. This optimization aims to enhance user experiences through operational streamlining and license portability for VMware Cloud Foundation users.

The partnership focuses on several key areas:

  1. Leveraging Google Cloud for VMware workloads: Broadcom plans to migrate its VMware workloads to Google Cloud, benefiting from Google’s platform capabilities and Vertex AI to enhance customer experiences. The integration of Google Cloud’s generative AI technology into Broadcom’s SymantecAI platform is already underway and will continue to expand.
  2. Joint product and go-to-market collaboration: Both companies will align their product and go-to-market strategies to better support mutual customers. This alignment includes deeper network solution integrations to simplify cloud deployments and identify growth opportunities.
  3. Google Cloud Marketplace: Broadcom intends to add more products and services, such as Symantec Network Protection, to Google Cloud Marketplace. This expansion will allow customers to scale Broadcom solutions seamlessly within their organizations.

Additionally, Broadcom and Google Cloud aim to enable portability of VMware Cloud Foundation licenses to Google Cloud VMware Engine by July. This capability will empower customers to use VMware Cloud Foundation subscriptions across Google Cloud VMware Engine and their on-premises data centers, simplifying infrastructure management and application development with Google Cloud’s advanced capabilities.
