Cognizant Partners with Microsoft to Enhance GenAI Initiatives

Cognizant has forged a partnership with Microsoft aimed at bolstering its generative AI initiatives. This collaboration holds the promise of significantly accelerating AI adoption and fostering innovation in India. Projections suggest that AI could contribute $450-500 billion to India’s GDP by 2025, accounting for 10% of the nation’s ambitious $5 trillion GDP target.

As part of this alliance, Cognizant has expanded its collaboration with Microsoft to make Microsoft’s generative AI and Copilots accessible to millions of users. The company has procured 25,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot seats, along with 500 sales Copilot seats, to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance customer experiences. Additionally, Cognizant is committed to deploying Microsoft 365 Copilot to a million users.

Through its Synapse skilling program, Cognizant has trained 35,000 developers on GitHub Copilot, with plans to train an additional 40,000 developers. This strategic partnership is poised to revolutionize various industries, unlocking new possibilities for efficiency and growth.

Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, emphasizes the transformative potential of GenAI across industries, stating, “GenAI can be a game-changer for virtually every business, opening up new avenues for innovation, efficiency, and growth.” Cognizant is investing $1 billion in GenAI over the next three years to empower businesses, employees, and customers alike. Leveraging the power of genAI at scale, Microsoft Copilot stands out as a proven tool capable of unlocking talent and potential in ways previously unimaginable.
