Nvidia’s CEO personally delivered the DGX H200 server, touted as the ‘world’s fastest AI system,’ to OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman. Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, hand-delivered the cutting-edge AI processing system and signed it with a dedication to advancing AI, computing, and humanity. The DGX H200 server is Nvidia’s latest enterprise-grade GPU-based system, boasting significant performance upgrades over its predecessor.
The DGX H200 features the new H200 Tensor Core GPU, representing a substantial improvement over the previous H100 model. With 141 GB of memory running at 4.8 TB/s, the H200 GPU, based on Nvidia’s Hopper architecture, is positioned as the most powerful GPU for accelerating AI workloads.
This handover event echoes a similar occasion in 2016 when Huang delivered the world’s first DGX-1 server to OpenAI, marking a milestone in advancing computing and humanity. The DGX-1 significantly accelerated OpenAI’s research efforts, and the upgraded DGX H200 is expected to have a similar impact.
However, amidst these advancements, there’s ongoing legal contention between Elon Musk, a co-founder of OpenAI, and the company. Musk alleges that OpenAI has violated its founding contract by transitioning from a non-profit to a for-profit entity. Additionally, Musk has expressed concerns about the potential dangers of artificial general intelligence (AGI), emphasizing the need for careful consideration of its implications on humanity’s future.
