GoTo Fights Scammers with New AI-Powered Scam Detection for GoTo Resolve

GoTo, a leader in IT management, support, and business communications, has introduced an AI-powered scam detection feature for GoTo Resolve. This feature, available across all tiers of GoTo Resolve, enhances security by monitoring support sessions on mobile devices in real-time to detect and warn users of potential fraud before sensitive information is compromised.

Around 70% of Indian consumers encounter tech support scams, with 31% of cyberattack targets losing money. Scammers often impersonate tech support staff and initiate remote support sessions to steal financial or private information. These fraudsters exploit trusted remote support software from legitimate providers to access victims’ devices, view information, or take control.

GoTo Resolve’s scam detection uses custom-trained AI to monitor for behaviors and phrases linked to these scams. If detected, the solution terminates the session, alerts the user, and allows easy reporting of suspected fraud. This feature has already identified thousands of potential scams, reducing abuse claims by over 81%. GoTo plans to extend these protections to desktop connections in the coming months.

“As a pioneer in the remote support industry, we have a duty to protect businesses using our technology and individuals interacting with our solutions,” said Olga Lagunova, Chief Product and Technology Officer at GoTo. “GoTo Resolve was designed with secure remote support and management in mind, featuring a zero trust architecture. Our new AI-powered scam detection provides an additional robust layer of protection, and its initial rollout has been highly successful. This is just one of many ways GoTo is committed to safeguarding both IT teams and their end users.”
