SonicWall Introduces Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) Solution for MSPs and Launches Cloud Secure Edge (CSE) for Cloud Migration

SonicWall has announced the launch of its Cloud Secure Edge (CSE), a new Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solution tailored for Managed Service Providers (MSPs). This development integrates SonicWall’s expertise in small and medium enterprise (SME) network security with industry-leading Security Service Edge (SSE) solutions to offer a comprehensive, cloud-delivered ZTNA platform.

The CSE platform, designed to support the growing needs of remote and cloud-based workforces, provides MSPs with flexible and cost-effective options for secure remote and internet access. It enables organizations to securely connect employees and third-party users from any device and location with enhanced simplicity and security.

CSE is a multi-tenant, cloud-based platform that offers Secure Internet Access (SIA) and Secure Private Access (SPA) solutions, replacing traditional VPNs with cloud-native alternatives. This approach delivers network security across various price points and integrates seamlessly with existing SonicWall Next-Gen Firewalls (NGFW) through a Private Connector. This integration enhances multi-layer security with zero trust architecture, simplifying deployment while leveraging existing infrastructure.

SonicWall’s Executive Vice President of Product Strategy, Tarun Desikan, highlighted the importance of flexible security solutions in today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape. “CSE builds on Banyan’s expertise in SSE and combines it with SonicWall’s network security knowledge to offer adaptable and affordable solutions,” he said. “These offerings, developed in collaboration with our MSP partners, simplify deployment and management while enhancing security, making them essential tools for modern IT environments.”

The introduction of CSE addresses the gap in the market for SMEs, providing a straightforward ZTNA solution that supports mid-market and SMB customers. SonicWall CEO and President Bob VanKirk emphasized that the launch of CSE marks the beginning of a broader initiative to offer security solutions that support organizations at any stage of their cloud migration journey. “Our goal is to redefine SSE for the SME market by combining simplicity with robust security, ensuring our partners and their clients have the confidence that their data is protected,” he stated.

Key features of CSE include:

– Firewall Connector: Integration with SonicWall Next-Generation Firewalls (Gen7) for ZTNA access to private apps behind the firewall.
– Seamless Integration: Compatibility with MySonicWall for a smooth transition and new capabilities without disrupting current operations.
– Simplified Remote Access: Easy access to authorized applications from any device without complex VPN configurations.
– Monthly Billing: Flexible, no-commitment billing aligned with MSPs’ customer charging models.
– Regional Compliance: A new data center in Frankfurt, Germany, for GDPR compliance, with plans to expand to the APJ region.
– Multi-Tenant Management: Features designed for MSPs and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) for efficient multi-tenant management.
