Infosys McCamish Systems LLC (IMS) is now facing its fourth class action lawsuit related to a 2023 data breach, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This latest complaint, filed on July 8, 2024, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, follows three previous suits since the breach exposed personal data of about 6.5 million individuals.
The lawsuit accuses McCamish of mishandling private information, which was accessed by unauthorized parties. The breach has led to multiple class actions, with the most recent one arising from the same incident.
Infosys has previously stated that McCamish is working to notify affected clients and relevant U.S. authorities. In response to this latest filing, the company referred to CEO Salil Parekh’s comments from Q1 earnings, emphasizing ongoing efforts to manage the fallout from the breach.
The breach has led to a consolidation of two earlier class action suits, and McCamish is now facing consolidated litigation over the breach. Plaintiffs have reported significant time lost managing the breach’s impact and potential risks, including identity theft and fraud.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about data security and the handling of sensitive personal information.
