Pantherun Technologies, known for its cutting-edge data encryption solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with AMD, a leader in high-performance computing, to develop advanced TCP/IP encryption technologies. This collaboration aims to secure industrial communications across critical sectors such as manufacturing, railways, and smart cities.
The joint effort between Pantherun and AMD addresses key issues: unencrypted TCP/IP channels in crucial infrastructure that pose significant security risks, the need for encryption solutions that operate efficiently without altering packet formats or communication protocols, and the challenge of integrating a secure platform that can manage vast amounts of real-time data.
AMD’s Vivado ML Design Suite and Vitis software platform played a crucial role in simplifying this integration. The Vivado IP Integrator enabled Pantherun to quickly develop and utilize IP subsystems, facilitating the integration of hardware functions from the Vitis environment.
Srinivas Shekar, CEO and Co-Founder of Pantherun Technologies, stated, “Our collaboration with AMD has merged our encryption expertise with their advanced adaptive computing platforms, resulting in solutions that significantly enhance security while offering exceptional flexibility and scalability. We are excited to continue this partnership to protect vital infrastructure across various industries.”
This partnership produced the Grace L2-Series Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch, utilizing AMD’s FPGA-based adaptive system-on-chip (SoC) technology. This innovation integrates multiple networking and computational IPs into a single chip using AMD’s Zynq-7000 series SoC, providing robust security without the need for additional hardware. The system combines ARM®-based processors with programmable logic, enabling adaptability to field changes and ensuring full encryption of TCP/IP packets, including headers, without impacting packet format or network performance.
Rohith Gopalakrishnan, Country Sales Manager at AMD, commented, “Integrating our FPGA-based adaptive computing technology with Pantherun’s encryption solutions has produced a highly secure and scalable solution tailored for critical sectors. This approach delivers advanced security at a lower cost compared to traditional methods, reduces the need for complex hardware upgrades, supports in-field updates, and enhances security for industrial communication and control networks.”
