XProtect 2024 R1 Update Brings Enhanced Cybersecurity, Efficiency, and Customization

Milestone Systems, a leading provider of open platform video management software (VMS), has unveiled the XProtect 2024 R1 update. This latest version focuses on boosting cybersecurity, optimizing VMS operations, and introducing new customization features to better address evolving customer needs.

Strengthening Cybersecurity and Compliance

The XProtect 2024 R1 update introduces several enhancements aimed at improving cybersecurity and ensuring compliance. The new XProtect Update Manager facilitates the centralized deployment of hotfixes across multiple servers, which helps protect VMS systems and lowers operational costs.

Additionally, the update includes a Care Reminder in the Management Client that notifies administrators when their Care subscription is nearing expiration. This allows for proactive renewal and uninterrupted support.

Boosting Efficiency and Customization

The update also features significant improvements in operational efficiency and customization. The new Multiroom Audio feature in XProtect Hospital Assist allows medical personnel to monitor multiple patient rooms simultaneously. This integration of live video and audio offers a comprehensive view of patients’ conditions, enabling staff to respond quickly to critical situations.

The introduction of a Combined Media Player Format in the XProtect Smart Client simplifies the process of sharing video exports by consolidating multiple sequences into a single file, thus streamlining investigations and team collaboration.

For XProtect Rapid REVIEW, the 2024 M1 update enhances user role management to ensure appropriate access rights while maintaining security. It also includes the Fast Track capability, which allows investigators to quickly locate objects across adjacent cameras using the camera geolocation setup in XProtect. Additional user experience improvements include a searchable camera tag feature for a more intuitive interface.
