Yotta Data Services has announced a major collaboration with the Government of Telangana to create India’s largest AI supercomputer. This advanced system, featuring 25,000 high-performance GPUs, will be housed in a 50 MW AI Cloud Data Center located in Hyderabad’s AI City.
The initial phase, expected to be operational within two years, will include 4,000 GPUs along with high-speed networking and storage infrastructure. Yotta H1, the first data center on the campus, will be a purpose-built, high-density, liquid-cooled facility.
The data center will offer flexible, “pay-as-you-use” access to high-performance computing and AI services, including pre-trained models, through an online self-service platform. It will support startups, educational institutions, research labs, enterprises, and government bodies.
Powered largely by green energy, Yotta H1 will utilize the latest sustainable technologies and practices. The facility will use power-efficient chips and advanced cooling systems to maximize energy efficiency, with a goal of achieving the IGBC Platinum rating for green building standards.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Telangana, and Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, MD, and CEO of Yotta Data Services. The signing took place at the Telangana Global AI Summit, in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
The full-scale AI supercomputer will dramatically enhance Hyderabad’s AI capabilities and contribute to the development of the 200-acre AI City. This initiative is expected to position Telangana as a global AI leader and a major exporter of AI technologies.
Jayesh Ranjan emphasized the state’s commitment to leveraging AI for growth and innovation. Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu highlighted the partnership’s role in establishing Hyderabad as a key player in the global AI arena. Sunil Gupta expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting its potential to propel India to the forefront of global AI innovation.
Yotta will also provide a comprehensive software orchestration layer and marketplace for seamless access to GPU clusters for AI model development and deployment.
