aching just under 70 million units in 2024, with a similar growth forecast for 2025, bringing the total to 74 million units.
Commercial demand is anticipated to be the strongest in the upcoming recovery phase, particularly due to the impending end-of-life for Windows 10. Canalys Analyst Greg Davis noted that IT spending is rising, leading to a 12% growth in shipments to large enterprises. While growth in the consumer and SMB sectors was lower, they still saw increases of 3% and 6%, respectively.
The outlook for the US PC market remains optimistic, with expectations of 6% growth in both 2024 and 2025. Stable macroeconomic conditions have encouraged increased business spending, and upcoming interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve are expected to further boost this trend. The consumer market may also experience a lift in the latter half of 2024 due to holiday promotions.
The US is positioned to lead in the adoption of AI-capable PCs, further energizing the market. Davis indicated that enhancements in on-device AI availability will expand across product lines starting in the second half of 2024.
