Akamai Launches Native Connector for API Traffic Protection

Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), the cloud company driving and securing the online world, has introduced a native connector between its Akamai API Security and Akamai Connected Cloud. This new integration streamlines API traffic analysis by allowing customers to send copies of their Akamai Connected Cloud traffic directly to API Security, enabling swift threat detection and blocking.

Rupesh Chokshi, Senior VP and GM of Application Security at Akamai, emphasized the importance of securing APIs in today’s digital landscape, where APIs play a critical role in business innovation but also pose security risks if unprotected. The native connector provides an easy-to-use, cost-effective solution for gaining visibility into API traffic and defending against attacks without affecting performance.
