Sify Expands National Long-Distance Network Capacity with Ciena Technology

Sify Technologies has doubled the capacity of its National Long-Distance network, upgrading from 300G to 600G using Ciena’s optical technology. This enhancement connects Sify’s seven Metro Area Networks across India, beginning with an express route between Mumbai and New Delhi, and links key AI-ready data centers in Mumbai, Chennai, and Noida.

The upgrade is in response to increasing bandwidth demand from global cloud providers and digital enterprises in India. Sify’s enhanced network, powered by Ciena’s technology, offers ultra-low latency connectivity to support AI workloads, cloud services, and applications.

Sify is utilizing Ciena’s 6500 Reconfigurable Line System and Waveserver 5, both featuring WaveLogic 5 Extreme coherent optics, to deliver scalable capacity. Ciena’s services, including strategic consulting and real-time software control via Navigator Intelligent Apps, ensure optimized implementation and network visibility.
