Congratulating the award winners, Anuj Singhal, Managing Director, Techplus Media, said, “While a vast majority of partners see themselves in a state of transformation, few of them have excelled in this space and have been able to delight their customers by realigning themselves as per the evolving business landscape. itVARnews Business Leaders Awards is one such initiative to highlight and recognize such partners.”

He further added that the year 2019 will be quite exciting with slew of trends including multi-cloud approach and AI taking the main stage. “While channels will play a critical role in the overall transformation of the industry, collaboration is the best way to go towards success.”

In his keynote address, Jatin Gambhir, India Head, Indirect Business, Channels and Alliances, Akamai Technologies, highlighted the changing cloud landscape and how Akamai could be a reliable partner to cater to the customers’ cloud needs. “The customers demand cloud solutions which are fast, reliable and secure. It requires cloud to be clubbed with right kind of application platform. Akamai as world’s largest cloud delivery platform plays critical role in providing web performance, media delivery, security, and expertise to manage multi-cloud environment. In fact, 30-40 percent of Internet traffic routes through our platform.”

While inviting solution providers to partner with Netmagic, Girish Sharma, General Manager, Product and Services, Netmagic, highlighted the strengths of the company as the leading managed hosting and multi-cloud hybrid IT provider in India and globally. “Our strength comes from $2 billion of investment in R&D globally. In India, we have expanded our base with over 2000 customers, 9 datacenters, and channel ecosystem with over 230 partners. In fact, channels are creating value by building and offering solutions on our bouquet of collocation, private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid cloud services as well as with our infrastructure management, security, professional support, and integrated network services.”

Attendees were enthralled by an hour-long workshop on ‘Forging a Stronger Partner Community,’ in which partners debated on topics like project delays, credit planning, lack of skilled and certified resources, and lack of in-project support.

Ranjan Chopra, Managing Director, Team Computers, stressed on the need for dedicated support from vendors on partner-friendly credits. “We have been able to execute various big ticket projects with easy financial support from our vendors. This is something which every partner may look towards.”

He also suggested not to develop super-heroes (over-specialized resources) in the organization which actually block the flow of knowledge inside the company. “Rather we should develop several heroes so that skills and knowledge are not limited to a single resource.”

Vishal Bindra, CEO, ACPL, suggested partners not to hire/poach resources from each other. “Instead we should invest in developing resources through internal trainings and skill development sessions. Hiring skilled and economical resources from tier-2 & -3 cities is also a tenable idea.”

Navin Kapur, Executive VP, Asia, Comparex, highlighted the fact that people work for people. “We never built a strong HR department in our organizations, hence face increased levels of attrition. People do change organizations but building a strong HR always proves to be an excellent investment.”

Sharing insights on lack of in-project support, Manish Bharti, VP, Futuresoft Solutions, suggested vendors to restrain their pre-sales resources to over-commit on post-sales delivery to customers. “Best strategy is to engage a post-sales resource during pre-sales discussions so that we don’t commit we can’t deliver.”

The event concluded with vote of thanks from partners, who appreciated Techplus Media and ITVARnews team for putting up a wonderful event. “I attend quite a few events but must say that this event has taken a quantum leap in terms of interesting and engaging sessions. The workshop on partner challenges was really interactive and thought-provoking,” said Gurpreet Singh Bhatia, Managing Director, Arrow PC Network.

itVARnews Business Leaders Awards is indeed an excellent platform to meet our peers and industry experts. Moreover, the sessions were quite insightful and gave us several ideas to work upon,” said Parminder Singh Chawla, Managing Director, MM9 Information Technologies.

Devender Taneja, Managing Director, PC Solutions, shared his excitement and said, “The most striking point about this event was that the subject was quite relevant for IT channel partners and the content was crisp.”

Harish Tyagi, CEO, Taarak India, summed up the sentiments and said, “We are honored to get recognition from Techplus Media. The value that Techplus and itVARnews bring to channels has increased tremendously with great combination of workshop and platforms like LeadXchange it offers.”

The Delhi chapter of the itVARnews Business Leaders Awards is a part of 4-city awards series where itVARnews  honored 31 partners in Chennai on September 14, 2018 and 35 partners in Hyderabad on October 26, 2018. The series will accomplish with awards ceremony in Mumbai scheduled on December 14, 2018 at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai.
