Cloudera Appoints Charles Sansbury as New CEO to Drive Trusted Enterprise AI

Enterprise AI-based data company Cloudera has announced the appointment of Charles Sansbury as its new Chief Executive Officer. The decision comes with strong support from the board of directors, led by Chairman Jeff Hawn, who believes Sansbury’s vast experience in corporate leadership will be instrumental in driving accelerated business growth and advancing Cloudera’s hybrid data strategy in the era of AI.

With a career spanning over two decades in the software industry, Charles Sansbury brings extensive leadership experience to Cloudera. He most recently served as CEO of ASG Technologies until its successful sale to Rocket Software in 2021. Prior to that, he held critical roles such as COO of The Attachmate Group, which was later sold to MicroFocus, and CFO of both The Attachmate Group and Vignette.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Sansbury stated, “I am grateful to the board for entrusting me with the leadership of Cloudera, and I am excited about the opportunity to take the company into its next phase of growth as the trusted enterprise AI company. Cloudera’s exceptional team, world-class customers, and technology leadership in delivering critical enterprise AI capabilities were the driving factors that drew me to the company.”

Cloudera stands as a guiding force for numerous Fortune 1000 enterprises, managing over 25 million terabytes of data, and empowering them to implement open data lakehouses to facilitate the expanded use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Sansbury is confident that Cloudera will continue to excel in its product leadership position and growth initiatives under his guidance.

Charles Sansbury will officially take on the role of Cloudera CEO from August 7, 2023. With his expertise and vision, the company aims to bolster its position as a pioneer in trusted enterprise AI and drive innovation in the data industry.
