Fortinet’s AI-Powered Security Operations Solutions Revolutionize Incident Response Time

Fortinet has unveiled the results of an independent analysis by Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) that highlights the substantial benefits of deploying its security operations solutions. Through integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced behavioral analytics, Fortinet’s solutions have drastically improved detection, containment, investigation, and response times, making security teams up to 86% more operationally efficient.

ESG’s analysis was based on in-depth interviews with end-users, measuring the time it took each organization to handle critical security operations functions. With Fortinet’s Early Detection and Prevention (EDP) technologies, the time to identify threats was reduced from up to 168 hours (21 business days) to less than an hour or even seconds. The time to triage and contain these threats was significantly reduced as well, enabling swift and precise action.

Furthermore, Fortinet’s Central Analytics and Response Automation (CARA) components streamlined the investigation and remediation processes, cutting down investigation time from 6 hours to 1 minute or less. The time to remediate threats decreased from 12.5 hours to just 5-10 minutes in most cases.

Apart from the accelerated response times, Fortinet’s solutions also deliver operational savings. ESG’s modeling indicated that Fortinet EDP technologies could reduce the average time spent per incident by 86%, translating to savings of $993,000 per year. Incorporating Fortinet CARA technologies could yield a 99% time savings, saving an additional $1.14 million in annual operational costs.

With improved productivity, cost savings, and risk avoidance, the payback period for Fortinet EDP is estimated to be between 1 to 2.5 months. For EDP and CARA combined, it is expected to be between 1 to 1.7 months.

Fortinet’s SecOps Fabric, powered by AI, machine learning, and seamless integration, provides robust security controls across networks, endpoints, applications, and the cloud. This comprehensive approach detects and addresses threats that attempt to bypass traditional security measures, ensuring organizations remain safe and protected from cyberattacks. The centralized approach to investigation and response further enhances an organization’s ability to quickly return to secure operations.

By leveraging the power of AI, Fortinet is redefining security operations, making incident response faster, more efficient, and cost-effective.
