Thales has secured the prestigious title of Google Cloud Technology Partner of the Year in the Security – Data Protection category. This accolade acknowledges Thales’ outstanding contributions in crafting and implementing customer-centric solutions built on Google Cloud’s advanced technology stack.
The Thales-Google Cloud partnership addresses the evolving needs of global organizations that demand heightened security, data sovereignty, and performance standards for their cloud deployments. Leveraging Thales’ extensive cybersecurity expertise, the collaboration provides the essential trust and security levels required for global customers to transition to the cloud while retaining critical control. By amalgamating Thales’ platform proficiency with Google Cloud’s enterprise-grade solutions and cutting-edge infrastructure, both companies are jointly engaged in several wide-ranging data security initiatives.
Thales continues its commitment to security excellence through a recent partnership aimed at enhancing data security capabilities and introducing AI-powered features to users of its CipherTrust Data Security platform. This initiative harnesses the machine learning capabilities of Google Cloud’s Vertex AI to automatically discover, classify, and safeguard sensitive data in the cloud, streamlining essential tasks for customers and ensuring the security of their cloud-hosted data.
Since late 2022, Thales’ CipherTrust Cloud Key Manager has actively supported Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) initiatives, including those tailored for Google Cloud and Google Workspace. Additionally, Thales and Google Cloud have collaboratively established a sovereign cloud joint venture (S3NS) catering to Google Cloud customers in France with stringent data sovereignty mandates, particularly those applicable to state and critical infrastructure organizations.
Thales has strategically developed a comprehensive cloud offering for companies striving to meet the highest data protection standards. In France, the S3NS joint venture between Thales and Google Cloud endeavors to provide French companies and public institutions a solution that aligns with the “SecNumCloud” label, certified by the French information systems security agency (ANSSI). Currently, SecNumCloud offers the highest level of protection in France and Europe, excluding national defense secrets. S3NS offers additional assurances and controls, including European data localization and external encryption managed by S3NS, based on Thales technology.
